Colombia Tolima 2025

There are few countries more famous for coffee growing than Colombia, which is known for its rich, mild flavor. Colombia is also one of the few countries in the world that only grows Arabica beans, which in addition to excellent climate and elevation, is why Colombian coffee is considered higher quality.

This coffee represents a classic Colombian profile which is soft and creamy with flavor notes of cocoa, caramel, tropical fruits, and a sweet clean finish.

A gift from the Andes Mountains

Within Colombia, Tolima is a mountainous region in the south and the largest specialty coffee producing region. It is located in the Andean mountains and the Magdalena River basin, which results in a sheltered valley climate and high elevation. Their high quality soil containing sandy clay loam and mineral rich volcanic ash produces a truly outstanding cup of coffee.

Farmers regularly produce Cup of Excellence winning lots, the gold standard for coffee beans, thanks to its bright acidity, sweetness, and strong fruity profile. It’s the fruity edge and lack of bitterness that sets it apart from other Colombian coffees.

Over half a million families dedicate their livelihood to producing Colombian coffee on small farms that dot the country’s volcanic mountain ranges. As the world’s 3rd largest coffee producing country, the volume, quality, and variety that comes from Tolima is amazing.
